A Taste of Northport

Northport Historical Society will continue its new social dining series, “A Taste of Northport” at the historic Tim’s Shipwreck Diner. A diner in the true sense of the word, the railroad dining car which now serves as the home of Tim’s has been at its current location since 1912 when it was brought from the Northport train station along the trolley tracks. Although the restaurant usually only serves breakfast and lunch, it will be opening just for this special event and offering chili with a variety of fixings to the Society’s guests. Beer and wine will also be available during the evening. Seating is limited to the first 50 people with paid reservations to the event.

This event is part of the Society’s ongoing celebration in honor of its 50th anniversary.

Reservations are available for $25 for members of the Society and $30 for non-members and can be made by calling the Northport Historical Society at 631-757-9859, ext. 301, or by stopping at the museum during regular business hours.

Northport Historical Society's gallery is open Tuesday through Sunday, 1:00-4:30 p.m. and admission is free, although a donation of $5 is suggested. In keeping with its mission to inspire interest and appreciation of local history, the Society features revolving exhibits reflecting our area’s rich cultural heritage.
