Archival staff demonstrates how to research your New York and New Jersey ancestors using the records of the Provost Marshal General’s Bureau. The records document arrested deserters, men enrolled for the draft, enlisted volunteers, and include compiled statistics on the physical condition of
recruits and military casualties.
