"The Myth and Reality of Jewish Life in Eastern Europe" with JGS

The Jewish Genealogical Society's next meeting will host Professor Magda Teter, who will discuss the real experiences of Jews in Eastern Europe, in contrast to the popular images of Tevye the Milkman. She will also discuss how this popular imagery of Jewish life in eastern Europe came about and what it leaves hidden about Jewish history. For more information on the speaker or topic, click here. The meeting will be held at the Center for Jewish History in Manhattan, and the Ackman & Ziff Family Genealogy Institute at CJH will be open before the meeting at 11:00 a.m. for access to research materials and computers and networking with other researchers.

Admission: JGS members are free, guests pay $5 at the door
