Scottish Herald at the NYG&B

The Committee on Heraldry hosts Mrs. Elizabeth Ann Roads, LVO, OSt.J, FSA, FSAScot, LLB, Snawdoun Herald of Arms, Lyon Clerk and Keeper of the Records at 6:00pm on Monday, April 7 at the NYG&B headquarters (36 West 44th Street, Manhattan). Traditional refreshments are included.

Mrs. Roads joined the Court of the Lord Lyon, the heraldic authority for Scotland, in 1975; in 1986, Queen Elizabeth II appointed her Lyon Clerk and Keeper of the Records. Her responsibilities include maintaining the records of the Public Register of All Arms and Bearings in Scotland in which the recently devised Arms of the Brick Presbyterian Church in New York now appear, and which she will present on Sunday, April 6.

Mrs. Roads is also Assistant Secretary of the Order of the Thistle, Scotland’s most prestigious order of chivalry, which engages her in the records of the Order of the Thistle and the planning of Thistle Installation and Anniversary services.
