The Detroit native’s ancestors migrated to Michigan in the late 1920s from the greater Rochester area, where they have lived since the late 1880s.  Join Kenyatta to learn more about her family’s journey to the Greater Rochester area from Culpeper County, Virginia. Using newspapers, town clerks, libraries, primary resources and oral history she has been able to discover more about her diverse family history in Upstate New York.
