In July 2015 the Brooklyn Public Library announced that it had digitized city directories and telephone books for the borough of Brooklyn (Kings County) spanning the years 1856–1967 (with some gaps). The full collection of digital directories may be accessed on the Internet Archive website here. Digital directories for the years 1856–1908 may also be accessed on the Brooklyn Public Library website here. Catholic Cemeteries, Diocese of Brooklyn, www.ccbklyn.org, has introduced a free, searchable database of interments at four cemeteries: St. John Cemetery— Middle Village, Queens; St. Charles / Resurrection Cemeteries—Farmingdale, Long Island; Mount St. Mary— Flushing, Queens; and Holy Cross Cemetery— Brooklyn. A mobile app that allows users to search for loved ones and get turn-by-turn directions onsite at the cemetery is available for free download.
