Seeks a Director of Education and Community Outreach.
The NYG&B is seeking a Director of Education and Community Outreach, a newly created, senior management position. The director will lead the design of a comprehensive, integrated, live and online family history education curriculum serving people with beginning, intermediate, and advanced skills. The director will organize and lead the execution of the program, building relationships and partnerships with the New York Public Library and other genealogical, historical, and cultural organizations throughout New York State. The director will also manage and develop the NYG&B’s participation in national and regional events, contribute to the development of the website, and contribute to the NYG&B’s printed and online publications.
The NYG&B seeks a person with management experience, intellectual curiosity and depth, and the motivation to cut an uncharted path to the future. A track record of professional accomplishment, superb writing and presenting skills, an entrepreneurial sensibility, strategic creativity, strong selling skills, and an upbeat, high energy, collaborative personality are essential. Knowledge of online education and social media applications and a proven interest and personal experience in family history research are also essential.
