Title: Oath of Allegiance
Description: Try to locate this text: "A 1778 List of Persons in Suffolk Co, LI, NY (as documented by Wm. Tryon, Govr)." I only have the Southampton piece which i requested from DAR.. Nearly all of Eastern LI were patriots and signed the Articles of Association, but by 1778 they were overrun by the British and any who had returned to their farms even for a short time, were trapped and forced to sign the Oath of Allegiance."You can also find many of these men in the book "NY in the Revolution" in local militias.
