Did traveling Minister or military Minister records survive the Rev. War? North of Albany

Genealogical Inquiries

This would be between 1777 and 1800, during the War and then the counties to the north of Albany County being divided up. There are no "organized" American churches yet so ponder where all the family births and marriages were recorded. They are not in Albany church records. What I am thinking is like Ballston where Eliphalet Ball was the Presbyterian minister in the Saratoga or Washington County area yet the church was not built until after the war. The other idea for missing church records is they were done by the appointed military minister yet would not know where to look for those. Can anyone enlighten me to these type of records and where one might find any and if any survived? Thank you, Kelley
