Is Johannes Plettel/Plettle bap 1709 the James Plato Who Served in the Tryon County Militia Associated Exempts
Did the Palatine Johannes, Plettel grow up to be the James Plato who built boats for William Johnson, fought in the French & Indian War and served in the Tryon County Militia Associated Exempts?
Johannes Plettel/Pletel was, baptized 15 Febr. 23d 1709 at the Highlands, child of Johann Jacob and Elizabetha Plettel; sponsors Johannes Fischer and Anna Marie Weigand. His mother married George/Jurgen Lockstad/Lookstadt 21 Sep 1708 and they settled on grant 1 on Quassick Creek.
James Pat Blado married Zara Bath 30 January 1739 in Albany.. The only record of his age and birth, that I have found, is a 3 May 1760 militia roll listing his age as 45 and his birthplace as Scotland. His name is recorded as Bacblado, Blado, Platto and Pat-Blado in various recordings of his childrens' baptisms, as Plathoe, in Albany County muster rolls, as Platto in the papers of William Johnson, and Platto & Plattour in the Klock Papers.and as James Plattow in the pay records of the Exempts' muster roll. His family was divided by the Revolution; afterwards his Loyalist sons moved to Canada, leaving their father and brothers behind in New York.
I've collected records on the Palatine Pletel/Lookstads and James Platto/Plato , but have not found the definitive link.
Any helpful information would be most gratefully received.
