Kane Family

My family lived in Westchester County (Rye, Portchester, Mamaroneck, Larchmont, New Rochelle) over the years.  I have found a lot of information on various members of the family from 1880 on.

I cannot find the link back to Ireland for John and Mary Kane who apparently settled in Rye Neck in 1825.  I believe that they were married in Ireland.

They had a son, Thomas J.(James I think) Kane who was born in NY, but married a woman from Ireland in 1870.  The family bible has her name as Margaret Vaile born on April 9, 1847.  She appears to have immigrated in1865  - from the census, and I cannot find any record of her marriage to Thomas Kane.

If anyone can make suggestions on how I can find any information on where the family came from in Ireland I would be very grateful.
