Occupational Records - Livingston County (and surrounding)

I'm hoping to find resources for occupational records, if they exist, from the Livingston County area (and surrounding counties, as borders changed) from around 1820-1840. Specifically, I'm looking for any records related to shoemakers. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks
