Ryer/Ryerson/Rijer

Looking for ancestors of William Ryer, b. abt. 1762, d. 1841. His later years were spent in Newark and he died in Manhattan leaving a will. He was survived by his wife, Mary (prob. Morris.) He is almost certainly the William Ryer who appears in the 1800 census of New York's 6th ward, and the 1810 census of Eastchester, based on age categories of the household at the time.
