Stephen Cooper/Betsey Noble - Utica, NY

I am hoping to find some additional information regarding a geneaology tree profile in the Preston Family printed in the NYG&B Record (July 1922). Within the Preston family tree on page 213, there is an entry for Mary Jane Halstead (127). It states she married her second husband, Jacob Cooper, on May 14, 1841 in Elkhart, Indiana. Jacob Cooper was born on March 15, 1820 in Utica, New York to Stephen and Betsey (Noble) Cooper of Utica, New York. The source states "Family Letters."

First question is, Does the NYG&B maintain those letters and if so, can members see/access them?
Second question is, Would anybody happen to have any information regarding Stephen and Betsey Cooper during their time in Utica, New York?

The 1922 NYG&B publication is the only documented source I have found identifying Stephen and Betsey Cooper being the parents of Jacob. Any assistance the NYG&B Society or its members can provide would be extremely appreciated since this has been the major road block in progressing the Cooper Family Tree.
