New York County Coroner's Report Abstract, 1823-1842

Thanks to the wonderful record collection at the NYG&B, I've finally located my 3rd great grandfather. He is listed in the Coroner's Report Abstract, 1823-1842. I've ordered his death certificate and found an article in the NY Morning Herald, 1839 reporting that two individuals were committed to prison to answer the charge of manslaughter. My question, could someone point me in the direction of where else I might look for more information? Is it possible to get a copy of a coroner's report from 1839? Thank you, Jean
