FAQ's

Where will I watch the sessions and participate in the conference?

The conference will take place on this website, www.newyorkfamilyhistory.org—you will log in using your NYG&B website username and password. If you do not already have one, you will have the chance to create one when you register for the conference.

What live events occur Saturday, September 25, and Sunday, September 26?

To ensure NYSFHC @ Home 2021 remains accessible to as many attendees as possible, livestream activities on Saturday, September 25, will be held again on Sunday, September 26 (with separate, live Q&As each day). Following the broadcast, recordings of these activities will be available on-demand through October 18.

What kind of device do I need to participate?

NYSFHC @ Home 2021 can be enjoyed from any device with an internet connection fast enough to stream video—mobile phones, tablets, and desktop computers are all viable options. 

How will I get the syllabus? 

Attendees will be able to access session materials on each session page, and a consolidated syllabus from the conference site. 

When can I access the sessions?  

Access to on-demand session begins at newyorkfamilyhistory.org/nysfhc on September 1, 2021 and will be available through October 18, 2021. Recordings of sessions held during livestreamed events (September 10, 25, and 26) will be accessible within 5 days after broadcast. 

Will sessions include closed-captioning? 

All on-demand and recorded sessions will include closed-captioning. 

Will there be an Expo Space?  

There will be no Expo Space as part of NYSFHC @ Home 2021. 

What about future NYSFHC events? 

The full New York State Family History Conference will return in 2022 in Albany, New York.
