In 1858 Arizona’s first newspaper was published. With the exception of the period between 1861 and 1864, newspapers have chronicled the events there since that time.
Homer Thiel recently read all surviving issues of Arizona newspapers and transcribed all articles mentioning the deaths of individuals between 1858 and 1875. The following abstracts are for those persons with connections to New York and New Jersey. Mr. Thiel offers to supply the complete transcribed articles on request. Please contact education@nygbs.org.
