This survey of Otsego County’s history and notable personages was written by Duane Hamilton Hurd and published in 1878. Divided into seventy-six chapters (with an additional 110 biographical sketches), it tracks the cultural and political development of Otsego from the early 18th century until the late 19th century. The collection also contains dozens of illustrations, including portraits and views of residences.
