This webinar will give a short background on the New York canal system and discussion of the different occupations that our ancestors might have had.

It will also cover Canal Town folks' associations, where the repositories are located, and where some names are in online sources.

Pamela Vittorio is an Associate Teaching Professor at Parsons/The New School in Manhattan. She holds an M.A. in Middle Eastern Studies from NYU and a certificate in genealogical research from BU. Pamela’s specialty area is the family history of travelers and the work force of New York’s state canal system.
