Join us as we learn from leading projects underway in Scotland that help bring color to people and history.

Inverness Castle - The Spirit of the Highlands

Presented by Caranza Murray.

The Spirit of the Highlands - what is it? Is it the landscape? A local community? A favourite memory? How would you interpret it?

The Spirit of the Highlands Project, supported by VisitScotland, presents an opportunity for the people of the Highlands and Islands and beyond – those who live, work, and travel here – to tell their stories. These community stories will inspire the new visitor attraction currently being developed for the regenerated Inverness Castle site and be at the heart of a range of digital and creative projects in the Highlands and Islands.

“Contrast: Other Peoples’ Lives” Canna House, National Trust for Scotland

Presented by Fiona Mackenzie.

The Canna House Project incorporates the work of Margaret Fay Shaw and her dedication to preserving the stories of the people of Canna. Fiona Mackenzie guides us through the project and Margaret Fay Shaw’s story.

Learn how the American folklorist dedicated her life to the preservation of the Gaelic language and the lives and culture of the people of the Hebrides.
