Philip Clough roots in Ireland

Looking for information on Irish roots of Philip Clough (1810-1881) of Crown Point NY. Married to Sarah Sartwell in the U.S. Attended a Congregational church here. Born somewhere in Ireland, possibly County Antrim or County Cork? No information on parents, siblings, or immigration date, except that he would have immigrated prior to 1834. Never naturalized. There is considerable information about him and his descendants in New York, but he is a brick wall in terms of his origins in Ireland. Any help is appreciated.

Monahan died in Spain

My father had a cousin who died fighting in the Spanish Civil War. Other than his name I know nothing about him.

I know his father's name and that of his sister, but nothing else.

Any suggestions on where/how to proceed.? I tried the NY newspapers but couldn't find anything. Have no idea if he is buried in Spain.

Thanks in advance.

NYC Naturalization Record Index 1791-1992

I am trying to find the detail of the Naturalization records for Edward Flavin. On Ancestry they show a number of 65098 and it is filed in the US District Court of Southern District of NY. Edward was born in 1848 in Ireland and died in 1888 in NYC which give me an idea of when this claim was filed. Can anyone tell me where to search for the actual documents? My name is Sharon Pizzuti and I am searching my Flavin lineage.

Discrepancy between Charles and William Barnes from Long Island 1600's

I have been tracing my family and have a discrepancy as to WHICH brother I am descended from. Some sources say that one brother returned home to Norfolk County England after the death of the father, yet others have him staying here in the states. Has anyone researched the Barnes Family from Long Island? And can anyone supply a source as to which brother went back to England and which one stayed and who were their wives? The sons were William (1643-1699) and Charles. Any information would be appreciated.
